This Summer Join the MSU Student Organic Farm Crew!
We grow over 100 different vegetable and fruit crops, plus cut-flowers and raise chickens, pigs and honeybees.
The SOF Farm Crew is an amazing learning opportunity!
Summer farm work is hot, dirty, and tiring but extremely rewarding. We are looking for hard working, dependable people to work through our summer season (May-August) and beyond.
There are plenty of vegetables to eat and lots of great people!
Must be available from the middle of May through end of August
We prefer to hire workers who are interested in continuing to work on the SOF crew part-time during the school year and becoming active participants in the SOF community.

The Lansing Urban Farm Project (LUFP) is seeking three interns for spring semester 2012. LUFP is a Michigan non-profit that operates Urbandale Farm using sustainable practices to produce fresh, affordable produce while building community within Lansing. Two interns will assist farm staff in developing market signs, project brochures, photo displays and other PR materials for Urbandale Farm, located on S. Hayford, Lansing. Interns should have strong communication skills as well as experience in art and design. One intern will assist farm staff in compiling and analyzing end-of-season farm data. The National Sustainable Agriculture Coalition (NSAC) is an alliance of over 80 grassroots organizationsthat advocates for federal policy reform to advance the sustainability of agriculture, food systems, naturalresources, and rural communities. NSAC is currently seeking a “Michigan Voices” Grassroots Organizer.
NSAC seeks to hire an experienced field-organizer to work on-the-ground statewide with focus on farmingcommunities and three target urban areas: Detroit, Grand Rapids, and Battle Creek. The organizer will work to unite farmer and food system advocates in support of sustainable agriculture policies at the federal level including the upcoming Farm Bill.

As many of you already know, Elaine Brown, Executive Director of MIFFS since 2005, was given a great opportunity to work with the Michigan Agriculture Environmental Assurance Program (MAEAP) at the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD). We are very pleased that MDARD recognized the leadership and organizational skills that Elaine has practiced so diligently at MIFFS and that Elaine was able to make this career-enhancing move.

Though Rising Pheasant Farms are enjoying their winter holiday, they're also very excited for the season to come and are currently working on our crop plan and seed list. Next season will involve expanding their field production in quantity as well as variety and starting up a small farm stand on site.
So with all this exciting work to come they'll be hiring an Assistant Farm Manager (see below for complete job description). They're looking forward to expanding their farm family and having a very fun and productive 2012 season.

Earthkeeper Farm is a biodynamic, certified organic vegetable farm. We grow about eight acres of diversified vegetable crops, with some fruits and flowers. Currently we are selling through our 75 member CSA, two farmers markets, and six wholesale restaurants accounts. We host work exchange volunteers (WWOOFers) and currently have openings for an Assistant Farm
